Companies (Sale of Shares) Regulations.

1.

Every contract, or agreement, of sale and purchase

which shall, from and after the 1st day of April, 1914, be

made or entered into in China for the sale or transfer or

purporting to be for the sale or transfer of any share or

shares or of any stock, or other interest in any joint stock

company constituted under or regulated by the provisions of

any Act of Parliament Order in Council Colonial Ordinance

Regal Charter or Letters Patent, or of the law of China or

of the law of any Foreign State, issuing shares or stock

transferable by any deed or written instrument, shall be

illegal and unenforceable to all intents and purposes what-

soever, any practice or custom of trade or of any Stock
